SOGAA is derived from the Spanish word “soga” meaning rope made from braided fibers and is also the name of the Bantu speaking people who live in Eastern Africa near Lake Victoria.
As an organization, SOGAA views the rope as a symbol of UNITY.
SOGAA‘s mission is to facilitate the coming together of individuals (represented as fibers) to strengthen our collective utility (represented as the rope)
